Product Review: Sambazon 3-Day Cleanse

When I spotted the Sambazon Purifying Cleanse at my local Costco, I was intrigued. I’m a huge fan of the Sambazon açaí smoothie packs. I blend them with some unsweetened almond milk, chocolate Vega protein powder, and a few frozen strawberries for a delicious breakfast smoothie.

I’ve done the Kris Carr 21-day cleanse (no alcohol, caffeine, gluten, or sugar), and found it to be challenging yet rewarding. A 3-day plant-based cleanse felt like an easier commitment, especially with the prepared juices and smoothies. When I bought the pack (on sale for $10), it came with a meal plan and grocery shopping list. I decided to follow the meal plan and enlisted my husband to try the cleanse with me. He did the Carr cleanse with me and after a particularly decadent trip to Chicago, we thought a cleanse would be good for us.


Day 1

Today, I started with the Cherry + Lemon + Cayenne juice with a breakfast of a handful of almonds. Mid-morning, I had a quinoa fruit bowl. For lunch, I had the Kale + Parsley + Cucumber juice along with a red potato and green bean salad. Mid-day, I had the Brazil Nut + Cashew + Cocoa superfood juice. The Brazil Nut + Cashew + Cocoa juice was my favorite from the bunch. It tasted like a rich, chocolaty smoothie. For dinner, I sautéed mushrooms and red onions and added a veggie burger, avocado, and tomato slices over a bed of baby spinach. So far, so good. I must admit though I felt hungry, but only because I usually eat more carbs than this during the day.

Day 2

For breakfast, I had 10 ounces of the Cherry + Lemon + Cayenne juice. It was a bit tart and spicy for my taste, but my husband Brendan loved it. He loves everything lemon so he enjoyed his daily drink. The cayenne definitely woke me up. For my mid-morning snack, I had a bowl of fresh strawberries, blackberries, and banana with almond slivers on top. For lunch, I had the Kale + Apple + Cucumber + Parsley juice with a roasted beet and orange salad. The green juices I usually make for myself are more savory than sweet so the apple was a nice addition to this juice. For a mid-day snack, I had the Brazil Nut + Cashew + Cocoa juice with a cup of baby carrots. For dinner, I made the recommended Saag-Sational Curry (see below) packed with cauliflower, grape tomatoes, red onion, and spinach.

I felt good, but still wanted to eat more.

Day 3

I was excited that for breakfast I could have the Cherry + Lemon + Cayenne juice with a pear slathered with almond butter. It felt like a decadent treat and I really liked the pear-almond butter combo. For a mid-morning snack, I had almond milk overnight oats with cacao nibs and unsweetened coconut shreds. I topped it with banana slices. Without the banana, the oats tasted bland. For lunch, I had the Kale + Apple + Cucumber + Parsley juice with steamed veggies (baby bok choy, broccoli, red pepper, carrots, and baby spinach) topped with sesame seeds, cilantro, and grilled tofu. It was very filling. My mid-day snack was 10 ounces of the Brazil Nut + Cashew + Cocoa, which I savored every last drop. For dinner, I had a bed of raw dinosaur kale topped with mushrooms, lentils, and roasted butternut squash.

The Verdict

My husband and I found the drinks and the meals Sambazon suggested to be delicious. I definitely had to set aside a little bit more time to prep the vegetables and cook our lunches and dinners, but the meals themselves were filling. As a vegan who doesn’t drink coffee, it was easy for me to eliminate meat, dairy, and caffeine, but I imagine for those new to a vegan diet, it might be a bit more challenging. I do have a fondness for sweets, but it wasn’t too hard to give up sugar for three days. My body definitely felt good after the 3-day cleanse.

We loved the actual drinks so much that we’re planning on buying them at Costco when we’re not even cleansing. I was really surprised how much I looked forward to juices as a snack.

Overall, I highly suggest trying the Sambazon Purifying Cleanse*. You don’t have to follow the 3-day meal plan. In fact, they offer meal alternatives if you want to plan out your own meals. I definitely would try it again.

*We purchased the 3 juices ourselves for me to review. Sambazon did not send me this product.

  1. I purchased this to try as I recover from oral surgery. I’m hoping I will get more nutrition with this since it will be difficult for me to eat for the first week. What is your opinion of the nutritional value?

    • Hi Cyndy! I hope your recovery is going well. I know the juices were designed to provide you with the right nutrition, combined with the meals. I know you won’t be eating meals, but the juices will provide you with protein and vitamins. This FAQ nutrition section on the Sambazon website might be helpful to you. Best of luck!

    • Hi Sherree! I haven’t found the Sambazon 3-day Cleanse in awhile, either at Costco or other grocery stores. Looking at the product offerings on their website, it doesn’t look like they offer it any more as a product.

  4. I found 3 day cleansing product is really work and healthy. I wish that Sambazon company produce that product again..I loved 3 day cleansing system from sambazon
