A nationally published freelance writer and the food editor for VegNews magazine, Jennifer loves writing and editing for magazines. Her first national article was for Bust magazine, interviewing young women who wanted to become nuns, titled “Get Thee to a Nunnery.” In 2013, she won a Maggie award for Best Feature Article by the Western Publishing Association for her piece on the growth of independent magazines.
She has written for O: The Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Every Day With Rachael Ray, Bust, BuzzFeed, Pacific Standard, and The Writer.
She is currently searching for representation as a young adult author. She is a proud alumnae of Hedgebrook, a women’s writers residency. A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Jennifer holds a BFA and MFA in playwriting from the Department of Dramatic Writing.
She currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her TV writer husband Brendan Hay and their twin daughters, Chloe and Claire, and a rescue pug named Chewbacca Tofu.
