Bio

Jennifer Chen (she/her) is a freelance journalist who has written for the New York Times, Oprah Daily, Real Simple, and Bust. She is the author of the YA novel, Artifacts of an Ex, and the forthcoming Hangry Hearts, out March 2025. She is a proud volunteer for WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring organization, and a loving foster kitten parent for Best Friends Los Angeles. Jennifer lives in Los Angeles with her TV writer husband, twins, two pugs, and two cats named Gremlin and Taro.

My Current Favorite Books: The Book of (More) Delights by Ross Gay, Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, all the Heartstopper books by Alice Oseman, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, and anything by Jasmine Guillory.

Favorite TV shows: Loot, Ted Lasso, Bluey, Queer Eye, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and whatever show my husband is working on right now.

My writing playlist: Raye, Elton John, Dua Lipa, Ashe, Lizzo, and Beyoncé.
